Are digital locks worth it for everyday entry?

Digital locks can make daily access simpler, but the right choice depends on the door, users, backup access, and how the property is managed.

A keypad or fob lock can suit families, offices, rentals, and shared access points. If only one or two people use the door, a quality keyed lock may still be simpler.

Every digital setup should have a clear backup path for flat batteries, forgotten codes, app issues, or emergency access. This should be planned before installation.

Digital hardware still relies on the door closing squarely. If the latch or bolt is under pressure, the lock may feel unreliable even when the electronics are fine.
