Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 3 July 2026

Business: Lock MastersABN: ABN 81 649 135 393lockmasters-locksmiths.com.auinfo@lock-masters.com

These terms apply to use of this website, enquiries, quotes, bookings and locksmith services supplied by Lock Masters in Australia.

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Lock Masters website and the locksmith services we provide. By accessing this website, requesting a quote, booking a service, approving work or otherwise engaging Lock Masters, you agree to be bound by these terms.

If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use this website or engage our services.

2. Services

Lock Masters provides locksmith services across Adelaide, Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, including emergency lockout help, residential locksmith work, commercial locksmith work, lock rekeying, lock repair, lock replacement, lock installation, master key systems, key safes, electronic locks and related door security hardware services.

Services are subject to technician availability, location, suitable site access, parts availability, safety conditions and the information provided by the customer.

We may decline, pause or stop a service where we believe the work would be unsafe, unlawful, outside our reasonable capability, based on inaccurate information, or where proof of authority is not sufficient.

3. Quotes and Pricing

Quotes are estimates based on the information available at the time, including photos, descriptions, location, urgency, lock type, door condition and access requirements. Final pricing may change after an on-site assessment if additional work, parts, labour, specialist tools or unforeseen issues are required.

We aim to explain pricing before approved locksmith work begins. If the scope changes, we will communicate the change before proceeding with additional work where practical.

Quotes are free where no locksmith work is approved or carried out. By approving a quote or instructing us to proceed, you agree to pay the final agreed amount for the approved work.

4. Proof of Authority and Identity

For lockouts, unlocking, key cutting, rekeying, lock replacement, access control or any work that may affect entry to a property, vehicle, room, cabinet or secured area, we may require reasonable proof of identity and authority before work begins.

Proof may include photo identification, evidence of occupancy, owner approval, property manager approval, business authority, vehicle ownership, lease details or another form of verification suitable for the situation.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to request the work. We may refuse or stop work if authority cannot be verified or if circumstances appear suspicious, unsafe or unlawful.

5. Payments

Payment is required upon completion of the service unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. For approved account customers, property managers, commercial clients or larger jobs, invoice terms may be agreed separately.

Available payment methods may include card, bank transfer, cash or other methods provided at the time of service.

Late payments may result in follow-up costs, recovery action, suspension of further work or other remedies available by law.

6. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Please provide reasonable notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a booking. This helps avoid wasted technician travel, lost appointment time and unnecessary parts preparation.

A reasonable fee may apply if a booking is cancelled late, access is unavailable at the agreed time, a technician is turned away, or special parts have already been ordered or prepared for the job. Any such fee will be assessed fairly in the circumstances.

7. Parts and Hardware

Lock hardware, keys, cylinders, electronic locks, finishes and accessories are subject to availability and compatibility with the existing door, frame, strike, lock body, access system or site conditions.

We may recommend repair, rekeying, replacement, adjustment or an upgrade based on what is practical and secure. You remain responsible for choosing whether to proceed with the recommended option.

Special-order hardware may require approval, payment or a deposit before ordering. Special orders, keyed-alike products, master key systems and custom-configured items may not be cancellable or refundable once ordered or prepared, except where required by law.

8. Warranty and Workmanship

We support eligible workmanship and parts supplied by Lock Masters. Manufacturer warranties may also apply to supplied hardware, electronic locks, cylinders and accessories.

Warranty does not normally cover:

  • Misuse, forced entry, accidental damage or attempted entry.
  • Normal wear and tear, corrosion, weather exposure or neglect.
  • Work, adjustment, rekeying, installation or modification by third parties.
  • Pre-existing faults, door movement, frame issues, alignment problems or hardware defects not included in the approved scope.
  • Customer-supplied hardware, batteries, network connections, apps or third-party access platforms unless agreed in writing.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Electronic and Smart Locks

Electronic locks, smart locks, keypads and access-control products may depend on suitable doors, correct installation, batteries, network coverage, compatible devices, user settings, apps, firmware and third-party platforms.

Unless expressly included in the approved scope, we are not responsible for internet service, app outages, device compatibility, customer account access, software updates, forgotten codes, deleted users or changes made after handover.

You are responsible for keeping access codes, backup keys, administrator accounts and emergency access details secure after the work is completed.

10. Customer Responsibilities

You must provide accurate information about the lock, key, door, property, vehicle, urgency and service required. Any hazards, access restrictions, body corporate rules, building requirements or known faults should be disclosed before work begins.

You must ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area and obtain any approvals required from owners, tenants, property managers, businesses, strata managers, building managers or other authorised parties.

You are responsible for checking the completed work, collecting keys or codes, and raising any immediate concerns while the technician is still on site where practical.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lock Masters is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including loss of profits, loss of opportunity, business interruption, loss of data, loss caused by delayed access, or costs arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We are not responsible for delays caused by traffic, weather, emergency demand, parts shortages, supplier issues, incorrect information, access limitations, safety concerns or events beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Updated terms will be published on this page and will apply from the time they are published, unless stated otherwise.

For a booked service, the terms in effect at the time of booking or approval will generally apply, unless a later change is required by law or agreed between us.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the Australian state or territory where the relevant service is supplied. For Adelaide services, South Australian law applies. For Melbourne services, Victorian law applies. Commonwealth law, including the Australian Consumer Law, applies where relevant.
